I think using for hotel stays is a better offer.
My calculation is that you can end up with a minimum of 174,500 Marriott* reward points. And since Marriott will give you the fifth night free if you redeem 4 nights, you get the 5th one free. So that works out to 5 nights at one of their Class 8. hotels. My guess is that is worth about $1,500.
I think the hotel stay benefit works out to about the same value if you use your points at Starwood instead.
If you take the same minimum spend and transfer all points to SPG and then Delta, you get 68,000 Skymiles. Or 75,000 Skymiles if you get some bonus category spending in. That is worth about $750.
Would you spend $6,000 for 75,000 miles? Or get the CSR card and spend $4,000 to get 100,000 miles?
I think the best use of the spend on these cards is for hotel stays.
* I assume you spend $3,000 on each card, but only on 1 pt per dollar spending. With cards do have travel category spending that allows you to earn more points. So you can do better than this.

I think you are right as to where you will get the most value. But it is cool how many options you have with these programs for the time being.

Card benefits so great, even the masters do not know the best way to redeem its points. I really need to take advantage of this.

Threads like this make me want to figure out how to better accumulate and use my points. I'd love to see our spending turn into a trip to Paris for me and my wife.
