Charged Extra If You Pay with Plastic? Not in this State

Are you aware that Texas state law makes it illegal to charge a convenience fee, a processing fee, a surcharge or any extra fee when consumers pay with plastic. The lone exception, is from government agencies, which can add a fee when you pay with plastic. Make a complaint with the state regulatory agency if this happens to you in Texas.

Someone has to pay for the cost of using credit. Eventually, it comes down to the consumer with higher prices. It is interesting to hear Texas does not allow these type of charges. I wonder if you order products online which come from Texas, the same law applies?

Wow, there's just so many benefits of living in Texas, no state income tax, low corporate taxes if you have a business, and no added fees when you use credit. I know the merchants must pay 2-3% just to accept credit so the consumer doesn't get stuck with those costs.

This makes it better for those who use credit cards a lot but still be careful of where you use the charge card. Texas sure does encourage business. Merchants can simply write off the fees they pay as business expenses so they aren't really losing.

They are famous for good food as well. Lots of spending chances with that rewards card in the Lone Star state.

That's just it. If the US simply stops charging consumers extra for this and that, the economy will be a lot better off.
