Minimum Credit Score for a Discover Credit Card?

What is the minimum credit score required for a Discover card with 0% interest for 15 months? I need to make a large purchase which I would like to finance if possible but am unsure if I can get approved for my current score. My credit history isn't the best but I've paid off my delinquent accounts and have been making payments on time for over a year now. Do you think I can get approved for Discover?

Negative items on your report can make it tricky to estimate approval odds, more often than not you just have to bite the bullet and apply. If you are denied make a note of the reasons on the denial letter, improve those factors and then re-apply in 6 months.

Also when applying, be sure to use the Discover it application here first (very important), and if that doesn't work that you can call for a manual approval.

To answer your question, according to CreditKarma data the lowest credit score approved for Discover More is 606. The average score is 711.
Current Fico Scores: 710 TU, 732 EQ

It's been a few years, but I think my score was around 610 when I applied for the Discover More card about two years ago.

For the standard card (see our review here) you will need excellent credit (700+) to be safe. However you can apply for the student version with little or no credit history.

I got approved for the Discover More card with a credit score in the high 600's so you don't need an "excellent" score like they claim on the site.

I was approved over the phone with a score of around 650 as well for the Discover More card. I had to I was hesitant to apply because CreditKarma at the time said the average credit score to get approved was in the low 700's. I've found that it's harder to get instantly approved online if you are self employed, it's best to call and explain your situation because that can set off a red flag.

I think it's probably because you aren't "guaranteed" a paycheck every week if your self employed. My husband has his own business and he's had a hard time in the past getting approved for credit cards and loans. It's even harder to get approved for a mortgage, banks don't want to risk losing 5k, let alone hundreds of thousands of dollars!
