    Discover it Card Invitation

Today I received an "invitation" to apply for the Discover it card via snail mail. I was wondering if anyone else received this and does this mean that I have a better chance of being approved?

What credit score would you recommend for Discover it? I am in the process of rebuilding my credit but it is improving and thought that maybe this is a sign that I now qualify for some decent cards? I am hoping this wasn't just a mass mailing to everyone and their mom....

It means that you are probably pre-qualified but it does not mean that you are pre-approved. These mailings are sent out to everyone in a fairly wide range that may qualify for a particular offer based on data that the card company has purchased.

You can actually apply online through the official Discover it application here.

As for a credit score I would recommend 720+ but I've heard of people with scores as low as 660 being approved for this particular offer.

I got approved around last week and this is my first credit card ( No home loan or student loans and such) thus I have no credit history. I Also got declined by chase Freedom and I did a recon and during it ( Failed) they said if you pre-qualify for it all they look at is do you have a way to pay back the bill basically instead of your credit history.

True but I would like a visa or Mastercard if my discover isn't accepted

Your experian score is borderline, but it's worth a shot - I've heard of people with lower scores being approved.

Looks like they just sent another round of these out, just got one today and I've already received three or four. The funny thing is I already have a Discover it Card.
