RushCard is rolling out some nice new features for its prepaid debit cards:
- Revamped mobile phone application
- Can sign on to app with fingerprint authentication
- App lets you put a hold on your debit card if it is lost
- Electronic access to Wal-Mart's discount perscription program (so you won't need to carry your prescription card)
RushCard is issued by MetaBank and runs on the Visa network.

I'd be careful with RushCards. I recall they had some issues last year where customers were unable to access their money. It ended up in a big settlement earlier this year.

Yes ... they had some technical issues last year. But they put that behind them. In fact, they just hired a new CEO who previously headed prepaid cards at MasterCard. That, plus the features of their new app, show they are back on the right path.

These are great cards to use with your kids to help teach them money management.
