Very interesting and somewhat unusual news in the world of credit cards today... For those of you who have a small business and have found success with Facebook Ads, Twitter will be opening up their advertising platform in March to Amex cardholders.

Advertising will be self serve (I assume they will have an interface that is similar to what Facebook currently offers for small businesses) but get this... in addition to American Express card holders getting early access, you can also land a credit for $100 in free advertising.

To claim the $100 advertising credit you need to be one of the first 10k people (with an American Express card) to register here.

Afte you register Amex will contact you via a direct twitter message with a secret passcode or something to get in (this is where it gets a bit fuzzy).

Amex has always seemed to embrace technology before some of the other card issuers so it will be interesting to see what happens, maybe Chase will land an exclusive advertising partnership with Pintrest?

If you don't have an American Express card there is no word when you will be able to access the Twitter Advertising platform, however they should be opening it up sometime* later in 2012.
