What's your largest purchase using an AMEX card?

Some people have charged an item of $9-10K without a call or anything from AMEX to verify. Would that concern you? I would think it should send a red flag and customer service should call to verify if it seems out of character.

I've done $3k but nothing larger than that. I guess AMEX has enough security and trust to let some people charge a high amount.

I didn't disclose my largest purchase. It was actually for a car. I put just $4,000 on it and then transferred the balance to a 0% offer for 12 months. Pretty sweet huh,?

Whatever big purchase it is for me, and when I get an AMEX, I will pay it off rather quick. I don't like to keep large debt.

I am not a big fan of spending large amounts on credit so mine would be at the most under $1,000. I need to keep it manageable due to income.
