One of the best benefits of the amex platinum business card was the 50 percent rebate when paying with amex member rewards. This means that you could redeem flights on your primary airline and on all business class tickets for 2 cents per point. Given the major devaluation of many airlines own programs this benefit was in many cases better than transferring miles to airlines directly.

As of June, or if you received the card less than 1 year ago on your card anniversary the rebate will drop to 35 percent of the points you redeem meaning you will receive 1.56 cents per point in redemption.

So just to give a real example. If a flight costs 1000 dollars you will use 100000 amex points. Right now 50k points would be debated to you within 4 to 6 weeks.

Moving forward only 35000 would be rebated.
