Large National Bank Issues New Debit Card & Deactivates old one w/o customer knowing

A large national bank, NOT Bank of America, and has the word "Well" in it sent a customer a new debit ATM card w/o them requesting it and it not expiring for one year. So, he had to make deposits to cover the charges but it was not in time, so he was then charged overdraft fees and the local branch manager did not reimburse.
This is an confirmed story from a customer voicing their so-called experience.
Has anyone else had this happen?

For me, I have never had a problem with Wells doing that to me or anyone I know but when you are the largest there are times when a rare occurrence happens. It is just part of the odds.

That is very interesting to hear about if true. I would bring it up to a higher division manager or corporate.

I wonder if they added a notice on their website about the change, or did not provide ANY form of notice whatsoever? If they didn't, it does not sound like a bank to do business with.
