Capital One Can Make a Personal Visit to See You

The large credit card company known as Capital recently sent a contract update earlier this year to cardholders that lays out its rules that it may come visit you any time it chooses to do so.

The update details that "we may contact you in any manner we choose" and that such contacts can include calls, emails, texts, faxes or a "personal visit.

Furthermore, Capital One explains these visits may be "at your residence and at your place of work."

Not even the Internal Revenue Service and Police are not able to visit you at home without an arrest warrant.

Illegal search and seizure attorneys say it is within the law.

The 4th amendment is applicable to mostly searches and seizures by law enforcement, not civilians. A credit card company, actually could reserve the right to visit your home or office and not have a court order.

Although, there is a statute against harassment and stalking so they don't just impose themselves during your lunch meeting or are waiting on your doorstep at dinnertime.

That's pretty shocking to hear but they are the ones extending credit money to you. I wonder if this ever happens to people.

We had a discussion on this in the forums some time ago. If you agree to the terms, then it is a possibility especially if you don't pay your bill.
